ICE vs VOP, a performance comparison. Since ICE release last year, I often read some comparison between this new Softimage tool and Houdini. At first glance, ICE look like Houdini VOPs. Most of the time the comparison statement is that ICE is faster and easier than VOPs. But is ICE really looks like VOPs? The set of all those ICE nodes give an ICEtree, a Softimage operator.

The goal of this project was to find a way to melt a lot of different objects. colors and materials had to melt too. Initial tests in the studio with houdini particle fluids proved to be the way to go. it was my first time using particles and dops in houdini.
